< Exodus 14 >

This chapter records the passing of the people of Israel through the Red Sea, and this should be of intense interest to disciples of Christ for the event was designed, not only to save Israel from the Egyptian army and to manifest the power of God, but also to represent the salvation of believers of the gospel. The apostle explained that just as Israel were baptized into Moses at the start of their journey to the promised land, so disciples of Christ are baptized into Jesus to begin their own journey to that same land. The apostle proceeded to show the significance of the events during Israel’s journeying. 1 Corinthians 10:1-2Waiting for response for 1 Corinthians 10:1-2

Many people dismiss this record as myth, whereas God declares it is truth and a deed done to make himself known to both Egypt and Israel. Similarly, God is about to make himself known in the earth by demonstrations of great power, but those who reject this record are unlikely to be prepared. They cannot see the evidence of God’s hand at work among the nations now and are ignorant of the prophecies which are about to be fulfilled. The people were not unprotected, for, just as the angel leading Israel moved the pillar of cloud between the Egyptians and the Israelites to keep the Egyptian army at bay, all God’s children are served by the angels who are “ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation” Hebrews 1:14Waiting for response for Hebrews 1:14
