They were instructed to keep this day each year as a feast to the LORD to remember their deliverance from Egypt. Interestingly, Israel's Exodus from Egypt, their journey through the wilderness, and their entry into the promised land is provided as a graphic representation of the journey of Christ’s disciples walking in the way of salvation. We need to leave the world, represented by Egypt, and embark on a wilderness journey to bring us in the end to our inheritance with Abraham and Christ in the promised land. God provides guidance for us also, and that guidance is in his word, the Holy Scriptures.
