Verse 1

Waiting for response for Psalms 2:1

The beginning of this Psalm is quoted in Acts 4:25-27,Waiting for response for Acts 4:25-27 showing this prophecy was fulfilled by those who crucified Jesus with reference to kings, specifically Herod; rulers, Pilate; heathen, Romans; and the people, Israel.

Verses 1-3

Verse 8

Here we have a vital distinction between Israel and the others nations. Jesus would inherit Israel by the Promises of God to Abraham but he was invited, after his resurrection, to ask for the heathen, and they would be given to him also.

Jesus will be the king of Israel, but he will also rule over all the other nations and these will constitute his dominions. Therefore, after his resurrection, the Father invited him to ask, not for the kingdom of Israel which was his by promise, but for all the Gentile nations. Verses 9-12
