Comments on the book of Psalms

< Psalms 1 >

The Book of Psalms is divided into five parts, possibly corresponding to the first five books of the Bible, with the division indicated by the word "amen". The first part is from Psalm 1 to 41 and relates to Genesis, e.g. the first Psalm reveals the character of those who will live in paradise restored.

The people who are the blessed of the LORD are those who come out from the world and are separate from the wicked in every aspect of their lives: walking, standing, sitting.v.1Waiting for response for Psalms 1:1 Their delight is not in the pleasures of the world but in the law of God which is their constant meditation.v.2Waiting for response for Psalms 1:2 Such people are likened to trees who bring forth fruit to God and will therefore be enabled, by being made immortal, to be fruitful to him for ever. This is a common figure in the Bible by which the saints are called “trees of righteousness” to constitute a paradise in the future. Isaiah 61:3;Waiting for response for Isaiah 61:3 Revelation 22:2Waiting for response for Revelation 22:2 These people will be incorruptible, like trees whose leaves never wither.v.3Waiting for response for Psalms 1:3 In contrast, the wicked are like chaff,v.4Waiting for response for Psalms 1:4 the part of the plant discarded in the harvest and burnt, for the way of the ungodly will perish.v.6Waiting for response for Psalms 1:6
