The rod that budded was placed in the ark, together with the incorruptible manna and the tables of the law, as a memorial throughout all generations to point forward to the coming of the Lord Jesus who would be God’s high priest, incorruptible, and an embodiment of God’s holy law.

Numbers 17:8XWaiting for responseOnly Aaron’s rod had come to life, with buds, blossom and almonds. This prefigured the Lord Jesus who is manifestly the LORD’s chosen one for he sprang to life again early in the morning after being laid up in the darkness of the tomb.
