< Mark 15 >

Verse 30

Mark 15:30XWaiting for response

The suffering of Jesus on the cross described here is commented on in Matthew so here is a good place to point out that the word 'cross' does not appear in the original scriptures, but the word so translated in the NT is a ‘stake’ [Greek: stauros]; ‘crucified’ is ‘impaled on a stake’ [Greek: stauroo]; and, when reference is made to Jesus hanging on ‘a tree’, it is ‘a timber pole’ [Greek: xoolon]. This is all in accordance with the foreshadowing of Christ’s death in the wilderness of Egypt, when the Israelites were dying because of serpent bites. Moses lifted up a brazen serpent on a pole, and all who looked to it were healed – as all those who look to Christ in the prescribed way will be: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish.” (John 3:14-15).John 3:14-15XWaiting for response

This is important to note because the 'sign of the cross' is the 'mark of the beast' imposed on the people of Europe by the Catholic church (Revelation 13:11,16),Revelation 13:11,16XWaiting for response and those who have this mark on them will be subject to the wrath of God (Revelation 14:9-10)Revelation 14:9-10XWaiting for response and will disbar them from living and reigning with Christ.
