< Exodus 8 >

God declared that he raised up Pharaoh that he might show his power in him, and that his name would be declared throughout the earth but in the same we are told of his mercy (Romans 9:17-18).Waiting for response for Romans 9:17-18 Pharaoh had many opportunities to obey God and let his people, go as successive plagues came upon Egypt, as the king of Assyria did (Jonah 3:8-10).Waiting for response for Jonah 3:8-10 But he hardened his heart, and the LORD confirmed him in that state and, in the end, he perished.

We see the same missed opportunity in Judas Iscariot. God said in advance that, as a friend, he would betray Jesus (Psalms 41:9)Waiting for response for Psalms 41:9 but he could have repented and changed course right up the last minute, at the last Passover with Jesus, but he continued on his reckless path, and perished. God is merciful and urges the wicked to turn from his wickedness and live (Ezekiel 33:11),Waiting for response for Ezekiel 33:11 and he is not willing that anyone perish but that all should come to repentance, and this is a vital lesson and a potential blessing for all (2 Peter 3:9).Waiting for response for 2 Peter 3:9
