< Philippians >

The apostle Paul wrote this letter to the disciples in Philippi which was a city of Macedonia, now part of Greece. When he introduced the truth to the inhabitants of that city he was flogged by the authorities and put in prison. However, the jailor of the prison believed the gospel and was baptized, and a congregation of believers was established to whom the apostle wrote this letter to encourage them in the way of righteousness.
