Jeremiah was thrown into prison for his prophecies v.1Jeremiah 33:1XWaiting for response but the LORD, the Creator,v.2Jeremiah 33:2XWaiting for response encouraged him by showing him the great and mighty things he will do.v.3Jeremiah 33:3XWaiting for response We should note that these deeds all have to do with the salvation of Israel and the establishment of their king, Jesus, over them in righteousness. At that time the Chaldeans (i.e. the Babylonians) were destroying the city and killing the people,vs.4-5Jeremiah 33:4-5XWaiting for response but God will bring health and cure to the people of Israel and reveal to them abundance of peace and truth.v.6Jeremiah 33:6XWaiting for response He will cause the captivity of Judah (the two tribes) and Israel (the ten tribes) to return so they can build their kingdom as at the first.v.7Jeremiah 33:7XWaiting for response He will forgive all their iniquities v.8Jeremiah 33:8XWaiting for response and they will be a name of joy, praise and honour for him before all nations.v.9Jeremiah 33:9XWaiting for response He will perform such glorious deeds in blessing Israel that the nations of the earth will have no doubt that the Creator of all things has done it, and they will fear and tremble before him.v.9Jeremiah 33:9XWaiting for response

The promised land was desolate during Israel’s absence but on their return it will flourish and be filled with joy, to the glory of God.vs.10-13Jeremiah 33:10-13XWaiting for response The days will certainly come when God will do that good thing he has promised to Israel v.14Jeremiah 33:14XWaiting for response and then the seed of David, which is Christ, will execute judgment and righteousness in the land.v.15Jeremiah 33:15XWaiting for response The Jews will be saved and dwell safely in Israel, and Jerusalem will be called: “The LORD our righteousness”.v.16Jeremiah 33:16XWaiting for response God made a sure promise to king David v.17Jeremiah 33:17XWaiting for response and he will certainly perform it - his seed, Christ, will sit upon his throne for ever - and God declares that the fulfilling of his promise is more certain than the ordinances of the natural heavens. We do not doubt the sun will rise in the morning - so we should not doubt that God will deliver Israel and establish Jesus as her king. Some, however, declare that these two families, Israel and Judah, have been cast off by God and will never be a nation in the land v.24.Jeremiah 33:24XWaiting for response This is false.
