Verses 1-5
Waiting for response for Isaiah 62:1-5Jerusalem is central to the purpose of God and he will not rest until the city is exalted in the earth and his righteousness goes forth therefrom v.1.Waiting for response for Isaiah 62:1 The Gentiles will then see his righteousness and glory v.2,Waiting for response for Isaiah 62:2 and Jerusalem will be the jewel in the crown v.3.Waiting for response for Isaiah 62:3 The status of Jerusalem will be completely changed. It will have a new name: “The LORD is there” v.2Waiting for response for Isaiah 62:2 (Ezekiel 48:35).Waiting for response for Ezekiel 48:35 It will no more be “Forsaken” or “Desolate” as in the past but will be called “Hephzibah” i.e. “my delight is in her”, and “Beulah” i.e. “married”. Jerusalem and the promised land will prosper and flourish during the Millennium and this is expressed by God using as a figure the marriage of Hezekiah, the king in Jerusalem at the time, and his wife, Hephzibah, for the LORD will delight in his land as Hezekiah delighted in his wife v.5.Waiting for response for Isaiah 62:5
