Britain has an important part to play in the return of the people of Israel to their land for the LORD long ago singled her out as “Tarshish” to bring the Jews back to the land v.9.Isaiah 60:9XWaiting for response Bible students have therefore watched the development of Britain to observe how she would perform the work outlined for her more than two thousand years ago. It was no accident that Britain took the Holy Land from the Turks at the end of the first world war and issued a declaration that she would aid the establishment there of a national home for the Jewish people. Thereafter, Britain was granted the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine, protected it from the Nazis in the second world war, and administered it until the State of Israel was established in 1948. Guided by God’s word, we can also look for Britain being the first nation to respond to Christ’s call to return all Jews to the land.
