Talk Truths
There will be great rejoicing in Judah v.1Isaiah 26:1XWaiting for response when “the righteous nation which keepeth truth enters in” v.2.Isaiah 26:2XWaiting for response At that time those who trust in the LORD will be blessed v.3Isaiah 26:3XWaiting for response and therefore we are exhorted: “Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength” v.4.Isaiah 26:4XWaiting for response
The original Hebrew has only consonants, no vowels. The original word for God's name "Jehovah" is "YHVH". This was originally translated as "Jehovah", but is now more commonly known as "Yahweh". Some people claim that only those who use the name “Jehovah” are God’s people, even arrogating to themselves as the guardians of this name the title “Jehovah’s witnesses” but God says who his witnesses are - Israel Isaiah 43:10.Isaiah 43:10XWaiting for response
Tyndale published his translation of the Bible into English in 1534, the first printed book. He translated it from Hebrew but adopted God's name from a Latin translation which had added vowels to form the name "Jehovah".
The proud will be brought low in that day v.5Isaiah 26:5XWaiting for response but those who have waited for the LORD and walked in the way of his judgments will be exalted v.8.Isaiah 26:8XWaiting for response The faithful desire the intervention of the LORD with all their being because they know that when his judgments are in the earth the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness v.9.Isaiah 26:9XWaiting for response It might be thought that if the wicked are blessed by God they will learn righteousness but God says, and experience proves, this is not so v.10.Isaiah 26:10XWaiting for response It will require God’s judgments to devour the wicked v.11Isaiah 26:11XWaiting for response before righteousness will reign in the earth. The LORD has ordained there must be righteousness before peace, but both will certainly come v.12.Isaiah 26:12XWaiting for response
In the meantime, while the saints have waited for the LORD, they have been subject to many other rulers v.13Isaiah 26:13XWaiting for response but, however mighty these may have been, they have all died and shall not rise from the dead v.14.Isaiah 26:14XWaiting for response This shows that in the resurrection not all come forth from the grave. God declares he will raise all those who are responsible to his judgment: some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt (Daniel 12:2),Daniel 12:2XWaiting for response the one class being made immortal and the other condemned to the second death (Revelation 21:8).Revelation 21:8XWaiting for response The faithful look forward to the glorious future God has promised even though they first have to pass through trouble and chastening v.16.Isaiah 26:16XWaiting for response Their suffering, however, is likened to birth pains vs.17-18Isaiah 26:17-18XWaiting for response which come to an end in joy. Most of God’s people are dead, but his “dead men shall live” v.19.Isaiah 26:19XWaiting for response They sleep in the dust but they shall awake and arise to be with Christ v.19.Isaiah 26:19XWaiting for response He will arise like the sun in the morning (Malachi 4:2)Malachi 4:2XWaiting for response and his healing beams will cause the earth to cast out her dead just as the dew arises in the sun’s heat. This is a very appropriate figure of the resurrection of the saints for the dew is not seen during the night, but at dawn it rises in the atmosphere and reappears at the dew point as clouds. Thus the saints are now unseen in the earth and their resurrection at Christ’s return will also be unseen until they appear with him in the political heavens as “clouds” (Mark 14:62).Mark 14:62XWaiting for response
The time of resurrection will be a time of trouble for the world (Daniel 12:1-2)Daniel 12:1-2XWaiting for response from which the saints will be preserved for they will be invited thus: “Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast” v.20.Isaiah 26:20XWaiting for response In this respect consider also 2 Thessalonians 1:5-102 Thessalonians 1:5-10XWaiting for response which speaks of the protection Jesus will give to his disciples at this time when he is sent by God to judge the inhabitants of the earth v.21.Isaiah 26:21XWaiting for response
In this chapter the LORD says what he will do “in that day” v.1Isaiah 26:1XWaiting for response when he intervenes in the world as described in the previous chapter.
