Joseph, revealing himself to his brethren, foreshadows how Jesus will reveal himself to the his people of Israel on his return. Like Joseph, Jesus will be in complete control of events and able to determine how and when he makes this revelation, and we have a prophesy of this - when he enters Jerusalem they will be greatly shocked, as Joseph's brothers were, and lament their past actions against the LORD's anointed while welcoming him as their deliverer. Joseph, however, was most anxious to meet and embrace his full brother, Benjamin, whom he loved and from whom he had been separated for so long. Likewise, Jesus is preparing to reveal himself to his true spiritual brethren and sisters whom he loves and, like Joseph can control events and will do so at the time and manner of his choosing. It is therefore interesting to read how Jesus initially concealed himself after his resurrection before revealing himself to his disciples (Mark 16:12:Waiting for response for Mark 16:1213) (Luke 24:38-39).Waiting for response for Luke 24:38-39 Also, on the night before his crucifixion, he expressed his great desire to be with his nearest and dearest disciples, on that occasion and also in anticipation of being with them again on his return from heaven (Luke 22:15-16).Waiting for response for Luke 22:15-16
