The miracle performed by Elisha to save the axe head may seem insignificant on face value. In today’s day an axe could be considered of little value, but in those days iron probably would have been quite valuable and losing it would’ve meant reimbursement had to be given to the person it was borrowed from under the law of Moses. So this miracle certainly did provide relief from debt. Also, there is likely a symbolic reason for the miracle as Elisha threw in a stick (wood) which possibly symbolises Christ’s sacrifice on the cross (wood) - so this miracle may point forward to Christ’s sacrifice which saved people. And of course we are all in debt to God as all have sinned but Christ’s sacrifice provides relief from that debt.
